The Refreshed Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

Mitsubishi’s ground-breaking plug-in hybrid electric SUV, the Outlander PHEV, has been updated for the Australian market in line with recent changes to the Outlander range.

Mitsubishi has tweaked the world’s best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV with refreshed styling, which includes an updated Dynamic Shield grille and front bumper design along with new-style 18-inch alloy wheels and revised rear bumper.

For 2019, the freshened Outlander PHEV line-up will include the luxury Exceed variant, equipped with 360 degree Multi Around Monitor, Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and entry-level ES with an optional Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety pack, replacing the Outlander PHEV LS.

The $1500 optional ADAS safety pack introduces Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The 2019 Outlander PHEV range also gains one-touch power window operation from the driver’s door for all windows, illuminated power window switches, improved seat cushion design, soft leather-look centre console lid and rear seat air-conditioning outlets.

A quick ratio steering configuration improves responsiveness and steering feel while larger diameter front struts and rear shock absorbers has increased ride comfort and body control.

Dynamic performance is also enhanced thanks to new structural bonding which has increased rigidity.

MMAL CEO John Signoriello said Outlander PHEV offers a smooth and efficient driving experience while enabling drivers to minimise their environmental impact.

“Outlander PHEV is a great demonstration of Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid capability and a fantastic EV solution for busy Australian urban lifestyles.”

“Thanks to its high-performance petrol-electric system, the Outlander PHEV delivers EV fuel economy alongside SUV practicality, providing a low-emission alternative for families and those requiring the flexibility and versatility of an SUV.”

The 2019 Outlander PHEV range is available at Mitsubishi dealers with Recommended Retail Pricing of $45,990 for the ES or $47,490 with optional ADAS safety pack and Exceed for $53,990.
